Tim Gerhards

Tim Gerhards first appeared on stage as a dancer with the ensemble of tanzbar_bremen in “SommerNacht” in 2016. Since then he has been working freelance on various projects in collaboration with the team. Furthermore, he works as a dancer, choreographer and in the area of project development for tanzbar_bremen.

Until 2010 he studied contemporary dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. As a dancer, he was employed by the Tanztheater Bremen under the artistic direction of Urs Dietrich between 2010 and 2012. Thereafter, he freelanced in numerous engagements as a dancer, actor and educator of dance at various locations in Germany. Since 2016 he has been working mainly in Bremen as a choreographer and theatre maker.

Tim Gerhards has been creating pieces with the independent artists’ collective unperform since 2017 covering the disciplines of theatre, dance, performance, music and everything in between. With unperform, he pursues his goal of an interdisciplinary, inclusive treatment of socially relevant topics for a diverse audience, varying in social class, level of education and cultural background. Regional and national networking is of great importance to him, for example in collaboration with tanzbar_bremen.
