Oskar embraces Neele's boots

Consciously or unconsciously, we touch ourselves and others every day, are touched and allow ourselves to be touched.

With TOUCH ME, tanzbar_bremen explores this omnipresent, sensual level of our existence. Full of curiosity, the dance trio questions the most diverse variations and effects of physical encounters. What do moments of physical intimacy trigger in us? How do we shape them? How do they affect us, and thus our way of moving through life?

Shaking hands, brushing hair, playing tag, carrying someone, bearing pain, enjoying a caress, being jostled, embracing each other – every touch has its own qualities and information, generates sensations, instigates intuitive reactions. Like a wordless language, tactile occurrences permeate our togetherness. TOUCH ME explores the essence of touch in everyday gestures, coincidental situations and exceptional moments and conjures up a choreographic cosmos from its discoveries that invites us to experience it.

The performance was premiered in 2017 and regains a new meaning after the two-year pandemic. Faced with the experience of social distance, it conveys even more clearly the power of touch.
