New Spaces for Inclusive Dance
For many years, tanzbar_bremen has been searching for suitable spaces for the association’s ongoing and project-based work. Thanks to funding approval from TANZPAKT RECONNECT, there is now a unique opportunity to firmly anchor this inclusive artistic work in Bremen for the long term.
Additional organizational staff, three residencies, and a symposium on the topic of “inclusive dance spaces” will support this endeavor in 2022 and establish another forum for the growing inclusive network in the cultural sector — locally, nationally, and internationally.
The aim is to secure these spaces for the association’s work, in cooperation with the Bremen authorities, even after the project period ends, and to further develop them together with the local scene.
TanzRaum – Current Status
The new rehearsal spaces are located at Häschenstrasse 17, 28199 Bremen, and are currently being prepared for use. The mobile sprung dance floors have been ordered and are expected in early February. In the meantime, the rooms are being cleaned, renovated, and set up to provide a pleasant and creative working environment.
Since the first artists are expected to start working here soon, we are in full swing — scrubbing floors, cladding walls, and bringing the rooms to life.
As part of the project, we can also offer three residencies for artists with disabilities or inclusive duos.
